BANGOR — Orono-Veazie, Bangor, Brewer and Old Town each picked up victories in the opening round of the District 3 Senior League all-star baseball tourney at Mansfield Stadium Monday.
Orono-Veazie beat Holbrook 12-2, Bangor defeated Hermon 14-2, Brewer stopped Sebasticook 7-3 and Old Town topped Hampden 12-4.
The winner of the tourney advances to the Senior League World Series.
Tuesday’s matchup will feature Orono-Veazie vs. Bangor at 5 p.m., followed by Brewer vs. Old Town at 7:30 p.m. On Wednesday, Holbrook will take on Hermon at 5 p.m. and Sebasticook will play Hampden at 7:30 p.m.
In the first game, Josh Storgaard pitched a complete game, allowing two runs on four hits to lead Orono-Veazie by Holbrook.
Sean O’Donnell and Mark Dieuveuil hit three singles apiece for Orono-Veazie. Cam Dwyer tripled and doubled with an RBI while Andrew Catlin added two singles.
Adam Patrick paced Holbrook with a two-run home run. Mitch Hodgkins and Max Andrews each added a double.
In the second game, Bangor erupted with nine runs in the first inning en route to victory over Hermon in five innings.
Cody Savage, Greg Duff and Tyler LaPlante combined to allow just one earned run on two hits for Bangor.
Josiah Hartley singled twice and knocked in two runs for the winners. Christian Corneil and Cody Savage each hit two singles while Luke Hetterman chipped in with a double.
In the third game, Tyler White pitched four shutout innings, allowing just two hits to earn the win as Brewer defeated Sebasticook.
White helped his own cause with two singles for Brewer. Matt Morrow chipped in with a double.
Dylan Hawthorne hit two singles and knocked in a run for Sebasticook.
In the nightcap, Tyler Alexander doubled and singled for three RBIs to lead Old Town past Hampden.
Cameron Archer singled three times while Tyler Lynch had two singles with an RBI for the winners. David Wilcox added a three-run triple.
Cam Blood had two singles with an RBI for Hampden while Cooper Antone doubled and singled.

At Bar Harbor, Jared Reed and Oliver Lawson each drove in a run in the five-run first inning to spark Coastal by Bucksport.
Lawson and Ben Olivari each doubled and singled for Coastal. Josh Gale singled twice while Reed hit a sacrifice fly and an RBI single.
Tyler McAllian hit a two-run triple and a single to pace Bucksport. Luke Wardell tripled and singled while Andrew Giosia and Matt Clark added two singles apiece.

At Blue Hill, Coastal notched four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning en route to victory over Machias for the District 1 Junior League championship.
Connor Morey pitched six innings for the winners allowing three runs on three hits with nine strikeouts.
Lucas Oliver doubled, singled and knocked in a run for Coastal. Gabe Allen added two singles and an RBI.
Tyler Varney doubled, singled and scored three times to pace Machias. Gage Feeney and Fred MacLean each hit an RBI single.
