OLD TOWN, Maine — The death of a 24-year-old man who was found unresponsive Saturday morning is being investigated by the Maine State Police Criminal Investigation Division at the request of local police, Sgt. Scott Casey of the Old Town police said Sunday.

Police have not released the name of the deceased, and few other details were available.

“Because of the age of the victim, I did call CID,” Casey said. “I really don’t have much to release about it right now.”

Someone at the Stillwater residence called for an ambulance Saturday morning, and police were sent to the scene shortly afterward around 6:35 a.m.

There was nothing outwardly suspicious about the scene, said Casey. The state medical examiner’s office was called in to do an autopsy, he said.

“Nothing really stood out,” Casey said. “It’s such a young person.”
