PORTLAND, Maine — A Standish woman is asking a judge to overturn her conviction on charges she tried to kill her husband in a bat attack or grant her a new trial.

Attorneys for Linda Dolloff argued in documents filed this week in Cumberland County Superior Court, that “no reasonable juror” could find that she beat her husband with a softball bat and then shot herself in the hip in April 2009 to make it look like a home invasion.

She was convicted in May on charges of elevated aggravated assault and filing a false report. She has not been sentenced.

The Portland Press Herald says Dolloff’s lawyers argue there were no witnesses to the assault and Dolloff’s ex-husband Jeffrey Dolloff had no recollection of the event. printed on August 17, 2017
