YARMOUTH, Maine — Maine is the nation’s lobster breadbasket. But clams will rule the town of Yarmouth this coming weekend.
The Yarmouth Clam Festival attracts more than 100,000 people for three days of entertainment, rides, fireworks, a parade, a road race, events such as a clam shucking contest, an arts and crafts show, and lots of clams and festival treats.
The festival is encouraging people to ride their bikes to the festival by offering valet parking for those who arrive via pedal power.
The Bicycle Coalition of Maine also has provided valet parking at the Common Ground Country Fair in Unity and American Folk Festival in Bangor.
