Hermon ousts Old Town 6-2, wins 2nd game

OLD TOWN — Winning pitcher Eric Hoogterp and Joe Plummer each hit a home run as Hermon ousted Old Town 6-2 in District 3 Little League all-star baseball action for ages 11-12 Thursday.

Plummer also singled, while Tyler Beaton and Corbin Sherman each singled twice for Hermon.

D.J. Monteith paced Old Town with two doubles.

    At Lincoln, Trevor Delaite pitched a perfect game with eight strikeouts as Lincoln eliminated Orrington.

Delaite hit a double and a fourth-inning two-run home run to power Lincoln. Takoda McGraw tripled and singled with two RBIs and Scottie Jipson also tripled and singled.

    At Millinocket, Zach Bouchard pitched a three-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts and just one walk as Millinocket eliminated Bangor West.

Jayce Wise doubled and singled for Millinocket, while Colby Waceken singld twice and Travis Hartley had a two-run single.

Jake Wilson, Brandon Appel and Sam Putnam each singled for Bangor West.

    At Orono, winning pitcher Mike Collins hit a home run and three singles as Holbrook defeated Orono-Veazie.

Alex Maxsimic added three doubles and a single for Holbrook, while Danny Davis doubled twice and Jamison Rhodes-Doyle tripled and singled.

Caleb Eddy singled twice for Orono-Veazie, while Dennis Farnham also singled.

    At Calais, winning pitcher Stefan Simmens doubled twice and singled twice as Coastal of Blue Hill won this battle of unbeatens.

Taylor Schidroth added a triple and two singles for Coastal.

Riley Russell doubled and Luke McDonald singled to account for Calais’ lone hits.

Jordan LaFrance added a double, single and two RBIs, while Keenan Marseille tripled and Dylan Leighton hit an RBI single.

Josh Smested and Josh Perry each singled for Sebasticook.

    At Bar Harbor, winning pitcher Shelby Cote hit two home runs, a double and two singles with four RBIs to lead Ellsworth to a first-round victory over Acadia.

Mariah Young added four singles and two RBIs for Ellsworth, while Kelsie Boyer added an RBI triple and a double.

Allison Bender paced Acadian with a two-run single and a double.

    At Bangor, Alexis Hafford drilled a two-run single to spark a four-run rally in the fourth inning to lead Hermon by Bangor.

Allessa Oakes struck out nine to record the win over Hermon and Amber Chasse added an RBI single.

Emily Reilly and Cordelia Stewart each singled twice for Bangor.

    At Bangor, Erin Martin had a triple and single along with two RBIs and Alice Burger added a double and two RBIs to lead Hampden to victory.

Brianna Cote chipped in with a triple, double and single for the winners and Page Yost added three singles.

Page Hesseltine drove in four runs with a double and two singles for Lincoln and Adrianna Tilton singled twice.
