Stegner’s single lifts Bucksport

      BUCKSPORT – Tanner Stegner ripped a single in the bottom of the sixth inning to score Brandon Finney and give Bucksport I an 8-7 win over Acadian I in a District 1 all-star baseball game for ages 9-10 Monday.

  Stegner also doubled in two runs while Tyler Heath singled and scored twice for the winners.

  Nick Stanley had two doubles and an RBI while Oliver Johnston and Wesley York both singled and scored two runs for Acadian I.

  At Machias, Noah Albert’s two-run single in the bottom of the fifth capped a 14-run rally and supplied Machias with the win.

  Alex Renshaw added a triple and a single for the winners.

  Cameron Ashley led Bucksport II with three singles and five RBIs.

  At Calais, Walsh Troiani-Gagner doubled in a run while William Geiro and Spencer Johnson had RBI singles as Calais triumphed.

  Keegan Newman added two singles for the winners.

  Jacob Gauvin hit an RBI double and Kyle Jackson two singles for Bucksport.

  At Blue Hill, Thomas Paola spun a two-hitter while striking out 10 as Acadian defeated Coastal.

  Seth Young had two singles, a double and an RBI and Tanner Bickford an RBI single for the winners.

  At Bangor, Justin Pelkey tripled, doubled, singled twice and knocked in two runs to lead Hermon to the convincing win.

  Quinton Wood doubled and singled to drive in four runs while Cody Lyons had four RBIs on three singles for Hermon.

  Dylan Porter doubled in a run and singled for Katahdin Valley.

  At Bangor, Nick Leach drove in three runs with a double in the fourth and later added an RBI single as Bangor beat Brewer.

  Justin Courtney singled twice for Bangor.

  Dylan Birmingham had two singles and two RBIs for Brewer.
