Sidney man, 34, dies after motor bike crash

A 34-year-old Sidney man died Monday evening from injuries he suffered when he hit a tree while driving a dirt bike, according to a press release from the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

Shannon Post was driving a Kawasaki 250 dirt bike at approximately 12:15 p.m. Monday on an ATV trail off Scenic Drive West in Augusta with two other bikers when he hit a tree.

Post suffered hip, rib and other injuries. He was wearing a helmet, chest protector, and waist and kidney protector.

Sidney and Belgrade fire and rescues took Post to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta where he died.

Wardens Gary Allen and Steve Allarie went to the accident scene, which is under investigation.
