Cruise ships bound for Maine ports

PORTLAND, Maine — Four cruise ships carrying 2,153 passengers are scheduled to call in Portland this week.

On Sunday, the Grande Caribe, an American Canadian Caribbean Line ship, will arrive carrying 100 passengers.

The Celebrity Summit, carrying 1,900 passengers, will be in port Tuesday before sailing for Bar Harbor. Mayor Nicholas Mavodones Jr. will officially welcome the ship.

On Friday, two American Cruise Line ships, the American Glory and the Independence, will return to Portland after completing their latest Maine Coast and Harbors itinerary. Both ships call Portland their home port. printed on April 24, 2017
