Does the lobster fishery need more regulation?

The tragic collision of lobster boats near Schoodic Point in Winter Harbor that killed one

man might have been avoided if someone were required to be at the helm of the boat if it

were going faster than 10 knots per hour. Is it time for such regulations? Or was the

collision a freak accident that is not likely to occur again? Should lobster fishermen

develop their own set of safety guidelines which fishermen could voluntarily follow? printed on March 30, 2017
