Comrades rally to defeat Acadians

    BANGOR The Bangor Comrades rallied for three sixth-inning runs to defeat the Acadians 4-2 in American Legion baseball action Thursday night.
    Josiah Hartley’s RBI triple gave Bangor the lead for good, while Jordan Clarke and Cody McInnis contributed run-scoring singles for the Comrades. Devin Lyshon chipped in with a double and a single.
    Brad Folmer knocked in a run with a triple and Jordan Carter another with a single in the fifth for the Acadians.

Brewer 17, Motor City 3

At Brewer, Blake Birmingham recorded three singles and drove in two runs and Chase Daniels tripled and singled to help Brewer improve to 8-1.

Tyler French and Pat McEwen each added two singles for the winners and Eric White had an RBI triple.

Casey Estes had a triple and double for Motor City and John Johnson singled twice.

    Calais sweeps Steamboat

At Searsport, Tim Barnes pitched a four-hit shutout with six strikeouts and no walks to lead the Calais Suns by Steamboat Paddlers2-0 in the first game of a Thursday doubleheader.

The Suns topped Steamboat in the second game 11-4.

In the first game, John Garnett hit an RBI single for Calais. Tom Pottle and Mike Kennedy each added a single while Toby Woods and Ryan Schoppee each scored a run.

Chris Hart singled twice to pace Steamboat Paddlers.

In the second game, Barnes led the Suns once again with two doubles, a single and two RBIs. Bryce Colbeth doubled and singled with three RBIs. Schoppee doubled and singled while Kennedy added two singles.

Evan Kingsbury paced Steamboat with a double, a single and two RBIs. Josiah Brazier doubled and singled with an RBI while Dylan Keller and Matt Steinort added two singles apiece.

At Dover-Foxcroft, Dakota Sleeper hit two doubles, a single and knocked in a run to spark Lincoln Lumber by the Penquis Navigators.

Andy Kay hit three singles with an RBI for Lincoln. Ryan Beers hit a grand slam to highlight an eight-run seventh inning. Lance Bernier had two singles with three RBIs while Logan McLaughlin drove in three runs.

Jamie Nason hit an RBI double and an RBI single to pace Penquis.
