WESTBROOK — Golfers count themselves lucky to get a hole-in-one once in a lifetime. For Maine retiree Warren Gilman, luck on the fairways comes easily.

Gilman hit his fourth hole-in-one last week at Point Sebago in Casco. At 84, Gilman says the thrill never gets old, though he admits he missed seeing the ball go into the hole. He was notified by one of his golfing buddies.

Joel Marquis of Gorham, who was in the same foursome, told the Portland Press Herald that Gilman didn’t believe it until he looked in the hole for himself.

Gilman, from Westbrook, didn’t get started with golf until his 30s. Now he plays every Monday through Friday, and he walks the 18 holes with his pull cart.
