Calais, Ellsworth All-Stars post wins

          Calais defeated Acadia One 5-1 and Ellsworth beat Bucksport 19-2 in Little All-Star baseball games Saturday for ages 9-10 in District 1.

 
     Calais 5, Acadia One 1

  At Calais, Matt Perkins hit two doubles, a single and drove in three runs to propel Calais by Acadia One.

  Greg Mitchell hit two singles and knocked in a run for Calais. Andrew McLellan added a double and a single.

  Nicky Stanley singled twice for Acadia One while Alex Galeaz hit an RBI single.

     Ellsworth 19, Bucksport 2

  At Bucksport, Sam Horn hit a two-run triple to highlight a nine-run third inning as Ellsworth cruised past Bucksport in four innings.

  Brad Smith hit two singles and knocked in two runs for Ellsworth.

  Luke Wardwell hit a RBI single and scored for Bucksport.

  At Houlton, Tourney action opened for the District 3 9-10 Little League All-Stars over the weekend with 12 baseball games being played.

  On Saturday, Hampden defeated Lincoln 15-4, Sebasticook topped Old Town 11-1, Bangor West rolled past Orrington 15-3, Hermon shut out Holbrook 10-0, Houlton cruised past Glenburn 20-1, Bangor East beat Border League 23-1, and Hampden triumphed over Millinocket 14-9.

  On Sunday, Sebasticook edged Bangor West 13-12, Hermon beat Houlton 10-6, Brewer defeated Bangor East 11-1, Holbrook topped Glenburn 24-5 and Old Town outlasted Orrington 3-2.

 
     Hampden 15, Lincoln 4

  Casey Sudbeck collected three hits to lead Hampden by Lincoln. Cole Tweedie and Dakota Brooks each chipped in with two hits apiece.

  David McGraw and Logan Thompson paced Lincoln with one hit apiece.

     Sebasticook 11, Old Town 1

  Josh Perry pitched four innings and allowed one run to earn the win and lead Sebasticook by Old Town. Zach Hartsgrove and Joe Cloutier were the top hitters.

  Hunter Brasslett was the top hitter for Old Town.

  Gary Farnham and Dominick Rossignol each hit a double and a single to lead Bangor West by Orrington.
