PORT ORANGE, Fla. – Bernice Juliette Duffy, 76, went home to be with God June 16, 2010, surrounded by her family at Volusia Hospice, Port Orange, Fla. She was born Nov. 4, 1933, in Eagle Lake. Bernice, affectionately known as “Bunny,” had been residing in Port Orange, Fla., for the last 10 years with her husband of 54 years, Edward Duffy. Before retiring Mrs. Duffy had enjoyed traveling throughout New England while working as a sales representative and area vice president for several major jewelry manufacturers. She will always be remembered by her family for her beautiful smile and unconditional love. She is survived by her husband, Edward; her children, William and his wife, Maria, and Michael of Portland, Diane Hiscoe and her husband, George, of Houlton and Ruth-ann and her husband, Steven, of Seattle; seven grandchildren; two special “daughters,” Betty Jo Kemper and Terry Kenney; and her siblings, Ernest King and his wife, Ann, Shirley Shaw and Evagiline Rooney. She was predeceased by her parents, Cecelia and George Voisine; her brothers, Patrick and Joseph; her sister, Mary; and her two sons, James and Thomas. A Christian burial service and reception celebrating her life will be held in Maine at a later date.
