Police investigate drug theft in Burnham

BURNHAM, Maine — Police are investigating a burglary of prescription drugs that apparently took place sometime before noon Thursday in an unoccupied house.

The burglar apparently pushed a fan away from an open window and entered through the window, Chief Deputy Robert Keating of the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.

When the homeowner returned from work at about noon, she realized that someone had entered her home and gone through cupboards and drawers. The person reportedly stole some prescription drugs and seven DVD movies, Keating said.

Deputy Gerry Lincoln and Detective Jason Bosco investigated the incident.
