Waterville woman says life saved by 2 unknown men

The Associated Press

WATERVILLE, Maine — A Maine woman says she owes her life to a father and son who helped get her out of traffic after her car hit a moose on Interstate 95 in Waterville.

But 32-year-old Cathy Shepherd of Manchester says doesn’t know their names.

Shepherd was in the highway Sunday night with a dead moose on top of her vehicle when the men stopped to help. And when approaching vehicles couldn’t stop, one of the men threw Shepherd over the guardrails to safety.

Shepherd tells the Portland Press Herald the son identified himself as Kendall. Their car had Maine license plates and they said they were on the way home from the races.

Shepherd was treated for minor injuries after the crash.
