Hines, Harvey leads Penquis by Steamboat

     SEARSPORT – Grant Hines hit a two-run single to highlight a seven-run fourth inning as the Penquis Navigators of Dover-Foxcroft topped the Steamboat Paddlers of Waldo County 9-5 in American Legion baseball action Tuesday.

  Hines finished with two singles and three RBIs for Penquis while Nick Harvey hit two singles and a solo home run.

  Cody Raven paced Steamboat with a two-run home run and a double. Josiah Brazier, Derrick Bernosky and Evan Kingsbury added two singles apiece.

Motor City 6, Calais 3

  At Calais, Casey Estes hit two singles, a triple, drove in a run and scored three times to spark Motor City of Bangor past the Calais Suns.

  Chris Hammond chipped in with three singles and an RBI for Motor City.

  Bryce Colbeth posted four singles and an RBI to pace Calais. Ryan Schoppee singled twice while Tim Barnes tripled. Adam Geel added an RBI single.

Brewer 8, Acadians 3

  At Brewer, Kyle McLain threw 6¤ innings of four-hit, three-run ball and belted a run-scoring double in a six-run fourth inning to lead Brewer past the Acadians of Blue Hill.

  McLain struck out six and walked three before Ryan Bailey came on to get the final two outs. Bailey allowed a pair of hits.

  Nolan Hall doubled twice for the Acadians and had an RBI.
