GUILFORD – Robert L. Bliss, 69, formerly of Unadilla, N.Y., passed away Wednesday, June 9, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston. Born July 24, 1940, in Albany, N.Y., he was the son of Gordon and the late Dorothy (Hand) Wilber. Raised and educated in Unadilla, N.Y., Robert graduated from Unadilla High School and later joined the U.S. Marines. After the Marines he was a longtime manager at Jump and Jacks Drive-In, Scotia, N.Y. He later moved to Guilford, where was employed by Shaw’s until his retirement. In retirement he did small jobs as a landscaper and general handy man for many local residents. He loved being outside and working with his hands. He is survived by his stepfather, Gordon Wilber of Unadilla, N.Y.; his brother, Dick Wilber of Unadilla, N.Y; his children, Leslie Bliss of Chandler, Ariz., and Becky Bliss of Converse, Texas; and his longtime companion, Meredith Moore of Guilford. A celebration of life will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, June 27, at 3083 County Highway 44, Unadilla, N.Y.
