BANGOR, Maine — Steve Hall, 51, who was injured Tuesday in a motorcycle-car accident in Parkman that took the life of his wife, is improving from his injuries at Eastern Maine Medical Center.

A spokeswoman at the Bangor hospital said Hall, of Harmony, was in fair condition Friday and was no longer in the intensive care unit.

Hall is believed to have been the driver of a motorcycle that collided on Route 150 with a car driven by Mary Kay Santoro, 54, of Parkman. His wife, Kim Hall, 47, who is believed to have been a passenger on the motorcycle, died later that day from injuries she suffered. Both were ejected from the motorcycle, according to State Trooper Marc Poulin.

Poulin said Friday it does not appear the pair were wearing helmets at the time of the accident, which is still under investigation.
