Southern Aroostook 9, East Grand 1

At Dyer Brook, Evangeline Goodall pitched a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts and six walks to propel the top-seeded Warriors into the semifinals.

Goodall also knocked in four runs with a three-run double in the fifth inning and an RBI single in the fourth for Southern Aroostook. Kaitlyn Sommers singled twice and Shelby Hartin tripled.

Old Town 5, Medomak 4 (8 inn.)
    At Waldoboro, courtesy runner Rachel Goodwin scored on a two-out throwing error after a pitch got away from the catcher as the fifth-seeded Coyotes eked out the extra-inning victory.

Amy Singer opened the eighth with a single and advanced on an error. Goodwin came on and moved up on Whitney Leland’s infield single.

Two-time defending Eastern Maine champion Medomak Valley threatened in the eighth when Jessica Koon singled and moved to second on a sacrifice, but Old Town’s Hannah Morin retired the next two batters.

Old Town had scored twice in the top of the seventh to erase a two-run deficit. Annie Cashon and Michaela Hussey singled and later rode home on Amy Cossar’s two-out, two-run single through the middle.

Singer also hit a solo home run in the second to back Morin, who struck out eight and walked six.
   Kasey Benner stroked a two-run triple and singled for the two-time defending Eastern Maine champions. Vanessa Davis and Heidi Obuchon added two singles each behind losing pitcher Kayla Santheson.

At Lincoln, Tayla Trask tossed a two-hitter and Amanda Gulesian singled home the only run in the second inning as second-seeded Mattanawcook Academy ousted No. 10 Belfast.

Trask struck out six and didn’t walk anyone to outduel Victoria Overlock, who fired a three-hitter with nine strikeouts and one walk.

The only run off her was unearned.

Jess Fortin reached on a two-base throwing error and scored on Gulesian’s one-out single.

Gulesian had two singles and Brooke Hanscom had the other MA hit, also a single.

Morgan Mansfield’s fourth-inning single and Caroline Carr’s fifth inning base hit were the only hits off Trask.

    At Hermon, Debbie Colpitts allowed one run on three hits and no walks while striking out 10 to lift No. 1 Hermon over No. 8 Gardiner.

Jess Devou hit a double and a single and scored two runs for the Hawks. Shannon Graves tripled while McKayla Bates had an RBI double and Sami Schultz added a run-scoring single.

Ashley Abbott led Gardiner with a triple, single and a run scored.

    At Bucksport, Shelby Redman hit a one-out two-run double to cap a three-run sixth inning that led No. 3 Bucksport past No. 6 Winslow.

Mindy Pye added a run-scoring double in the sixth for the Golden Bucks. Bailey Blair had two singles and an RBI and Sarah Sutherland singled twice. Junior Abby Yoe struck out 11 and walked none.

Kristen Loubier hit an RBI triple in the fourth for Winslow. Katie Bernard hit two bunt singles.

At Millinocket, Alyssa Beaulieu doubled and singled among only four hits as the fourth-seeded Minutemen prevailed.

Ashley Rollins hit an RBI single and Monica Deabay singled to back starter Ashley Rollins and reliever Angela Levesque, who combined to scatter eight hits.

Jasmine Fletcher rapped a two-out, two-run double in the seventh inning to get the No. 5 Ponies within a run, but Levesque got the final out with Fletcher, representing the tying run, on second base.

Vanessa Lougee doubled and singled and Sam Snyder singled twice behind losing pitcher Kelsey Boss, who struck out seven.

At Calais, Ariel Knights hit an RBI triple in the fifth inng and Marlene Flaherty brought her home with a single to help lead No. 8 Woodland to an upset win over top-seeded Calais.

Shelby Bassett had three doubles, a single and five RBIs while earning the win for the Dragons. Taylor Cochran added two singles and an RBI.

Allison Hill led the Blue Devils with three singles and two RBIs. Shannon Brown also had three singles with one RBI and Honor Wilkinson tripled, doubled and singled while driving in a run.

    At Blue Hill, Anna Clapp scored from third base in the sixth inning on a Stephi Davis ground out to lead second-seeded George Stevens Academy past No. 7 Orono.

Senior Lydia Clapp allowed one hit and two walks while striking out seven to earn the shutout. Stevie Theoharidis singled in the first and Davis singled in the fourth.

Andi Foster gave up one run on two hits and four walks with nine strikeouts for Orono. Elizabeth Fox singled in the sixth.

    At Augusta, Amy Jones drove in what proved to be the game-winning run in the bottom of the fifth inning as the third-ranked Rams ousted the sixth-seeded Witches.

Nicole Brown singled twice and knocked in a run for Cony while Liz Barker singled and scored.

Morgan Haradon doubled in the fifth inning for Brewer while Deaven Smith drove in pinch runner Coralie Dapice with a fielders choice RBI. Haradon added a single.
