FARMINGTON, Maine — A West Farmington man who was arrested after police raided a methamphetamine lab in New Vineyard is going to prison for four years.

William Bart Christopher, who pleaded guilty, was sentenced this week in Franklin County Superior Court. He was fined $2,000 in addition to the prison sentence.

Attorney General Janet Mills said Tuesday that her office is placing a priority on prosecuting methamphetamine cases, both because of the devastating impact on drug users and the dangerous and toxic methods used in the manufacture of the drug.

Law enforcement officials found the crystal meth lab while executing a search warrant in November.
