Body found near Ram Island off Maine coast

PORTLAND, Maine — Police say the body of a man has been recovered from the water near Ram Island in Casco Bay.

Portland Police Commander Vern Malloch said the discovery was made around 11 a.m. by the Maine Maritime Patrol and Coast Guard during routine operations.

He said the man has been tentatively identified, but his name isn’t being released pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.
