The Associated Press

PORTLAND, Maine — Maine’s four Democratic gubernatorial hopefuls gather tonight for one of the final two debates before next week’s primary elections.

Pat McGowan, Libby Mitchell, Steve Rowe and Rosa Scarcelli are participating in a debate Wednesday evening at the University of Southern Maine in Portland. It’ll be carried live by WMTW-TV.

They meet again on Thursday in Lewiston for a final debate sponsored by MPBN.

On Tuesday, members of the major parties will choose their candidates for the November election. Three independents also will be on the ballot.
