For the third year in a row, music, fashion, comedy, dancing, food and vendors will take over West Market Square in downtown Bangor this Saturday, June 5.
The only difference this year? Instead of it being Chas Bruns and John Gillis of West Market Productions running the show, it’s now Gibran “BangPop” Graham taking the reins. As with the past two festivals, West Market Fest this year will feature an array of Maine bands and fashion shows from Maine designers and stores.
On the music end, classic rock tribute act the Retro Rockerz will kick off the day at noon, followed by Portland power pop five piece the Sophomore Beat.
Bangor area improv comedy all-stars The Focus Group will perform at 3 p.m., followed by the terrifically fun rock group The Goodnight Process at 3:45 p.m. Orono jam band Restless Groove will perform at 5 p.m., followed by belly dance troupe Paradigm. Maine heroes Rustic Overtones finish out the evening at 6:30.
In between, original fashion from FXDressed, Sophronia Designs and Michael Shyka, as well as from retail shops Bella Luna and Main Street Alternative, will take over the catwalk, with shows at 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. As always, the event is free, though bring some cash for food and gifts from the many vendors.
