MILBRIDGE – Maine Marine Patrol Lt. Alan Talbot confirmed Sunday afternoon that the body of Alton Jellison, 44, has been found off the coast of Milbridge.

Jellison has been missing since a fishing trip with his brother, Jack Jellison, 43, in mid-April.

The pair, who were from Milbridge and were lobstermen and clammers, were headed to Bois Bubert Island, which is part of Milbridge but close to the village of Steuben, for a weekend getaway. There is a small camp on the island.

Jack Jellison’s body was found almost immediately after the search began, as was the brothers’ capsized skiff.

The water temperature at the time was 41 degrees, with winds at 11 miles per hour and swells of about 2 feet.

The body was found Sunday by a tour boat.
