Glenburn fire and rescue personnel Saturday attend to Lawrence Jenkins, 46, of Glenburn. Jenkins was traveling north on Ohio Street about noon when his GMC truck drifted off the road, then struck a utility pole and tree, according to Maine State Police Trooper Christopher Cookson. A Bangor Hydro Electric Co. crew was called in to clear wires from the scene and the road was shut down for about 90 minutes. Jenkins, who was the only person in the truck, was transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. He appeared to have suffered from a medical problem when he lost control of the vehicle, which was demolished, Cookson said. Jenkins was not wearing a seat belt and had an open container of beer with him. The accident is under investigation.
