Orrington man, 71, indicted on drug charges

BANGOR, Maine — A 71-year-old Orrington man was indicted Wednesday by the Penobscot County grand jury on drug charges.

Richard F. Foss was indicted, along with Brian D. Young, 66, of Bradley, for unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs and unlawful furnishing of scheduled drugs.

The two men were arrested last month, according to Assistant Attorney General Patrick Larson, in a controlled buy arranged by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency. Young allegedly bought 13 oxycodone pills from Foss.

It was unclear Wednesday where Foss obtained the pills.

If convicted, Foss faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $20,000 on the drug trafficking charges. Young faces up to 30 years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000 on the drug trafficking charge because he allegedly sold the pills within 1,000 feet of the Brewer Middle School.
