BANGOR, Maine — Subway sandwich enthusiasts will see some changes this summer as one restaurant changes ownership and another opens on Main Street.

Starting today, Brian Hansen and William Sovis will be the new owners of the location at 120 State St. that has long been operated by Angelia Levesque and the King family, according to a press release. The pair currently owns Hospi Foodservice Inc. and has operated local Subway franchises since 1996.

In a statement, Hansen said he and Sovis take “great pride in providing a consistent, predictable experience” and are “very excited to continue what guests have come to expect” from the State Street location.

Aside from the ownership transfer, Hansen and Sovis plan to open a new restaurant at 469 Main St. sometime in August. The address, at the corner of Lincoln and Main streets, previously was home to a Sunoco filling station and convenience store.

The addition of the two restaurants will bring the number of locations in the Bangor area operated by the pair to nine. Statewide, 106 Subway locations are in operation.
