PORTLAND, Maine — A Maine woman is going to jail for 90 days for driving drunk and crashing her car into a police cruiser that an officer had parked on the side of the road so he could arrest another driver for drunken driving.

Cumberland County District Attorney Stephanie Anderson said Lisa Cioe (SEE’-oh) of Cape Elizabeth was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to aggravated assault, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and operating under the influence.

Prosecutors said Cioe had a blood alcohol content of 0.23 percent when she crashed her car into a cruiser in South Portland at 1:45 a.m. last Dec. 12. Cioe had been drinking at a nearby bar and drove off despite an employee’s attempts to stop her.

Officer Seth Page suffered knee, neck, back and shoulder injuries and was unable to work for six weeks.
