Bangor nurse honored for work with veterans

BANGOR, Maine — Acadia Hospital nurse Stephanie Lanham received the Agnes E. Flaherty Leadership Award on April 28 at the annual meeting of the American Nurses Association of Maine.

Lanham, a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner working at Acadia Hospital, received the award in recogni-tion of her outstanding work in supporting American troops living with post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD.

She created a nonprofit organization called the Solomon PTSD Recovery Project and has published a resource book, “Veterans and Families’ Guide to Recovering From PTSD,” for the past seven years.
