Goodall helps Southern Aroostook Warriors trip up Vikings

DYER BROOK, Maine – Elizabeth Goodall hit an inside-the-park home run, tripled, singled and finished with three RBIs to lead Southern Aroostook to a 12-8 high school softball victory over East Grand Wednesday.

The game was called after six innings due to rain.

Olivia Raymond chipped in with two doubles and an RBI for the winners and Kaitlyn Sommers singled twice.

For the Vikings of Danforth, Liz Gilman doubled and singled and Sharlene Maynard added an RBI single.

Cen. Aroostook 29, Washburn 7

At Washburn, Rachael Grew hit four singles and drove in eight runs to lift Central Aroostook of Mars Hill over Washburn.

Vicki McIntyre hit a third inning two-run home run for the Panthers. Paige Garrison singled twice.

Meghan Saucier hit a three-run homer in the third for the Beavers. Kristi Sperrey added two singles, a double and two RBIs. Marlaina Spooner singled twice and drove in a run.

LCS/MSSM 16, Fort Fairfield 9

At Fort Fairfield, Audra Kirk tripled, doubled and singled to drive in two runs and lead Limestone Community School and Maine School of Science and Mathematics to the win over Fort Fairfield.

Chelsea Leighton had three singles and two RBIs for the Eagles. Victory St. Pierre hit a double and an RBI single.

Amanda Hotham singled four times and knocked in three runs for Fort Fairfield. Kelsey Turner had two singles and three RBIs and Sydney Churchill added two singles and two RBIs.

Fort Kent 30, Wisdom 0

At Fort Kent, junior righthander Emily Bard pitched a one-hit shutout as Fort Kent topped Wisdom of St. Agatha.

Bard struck out 10 and walked one for the Tigers. Michela Desjardins hit three singles and drove in five runs. Lexi Desjardins added a double, two singles and three RBIs. Breanna Thibodeau doubled and singled with three RBIs and Jessica Walker singled and knocked in three runs.

Deliya Michaud doubled in the third inning for Wisdom.

Baseball

Fort Kent 4, Wisdom 3

At Fort Kent, Nick Michaud allowed one run on three hits and three walks while striking out 10 through six innings as Fort Kent held off Wisdom of St. Agatha.

Michaud hit two doubles and knocked in a run for the Warriors. Jesse Guimond hit an RBI double and Thomas Levesque doubled.

Kody Chamberland hit two singles and scored a run for the Pioneers. Curtis Picard struck out seven.

Fort Fairfield 13, Limestone 3

At Fort Fairfield, Austin Bernier earned the victory with three innings of work on the mound and supported his own cause with a double, single and an RBI for the Tigers.

Josh Churchill had a double, single and RBI for the Tigers while Landon Towle singled twice.

For the Limesteon/Maine School of Science and Mathematics Eagles, Brett Butler singled twice.

SAHS 20, East Grand 2 (5 inn.)

At Dyer Brook, Dakota Sleeper powered the Southern Aroostook Warriors with a grand slam in the second inning, a double, two singles and six total RBIs.

Pat Goodall tripled and doubled for the Warriors.

Abe Britton led East Grand of Danforth with two singles.

Houlton 24, Hodgdon 9

At Hodgdon, Ian Gervais hit a three-run home run in the fifth, added three singles and totaled five RBIs to help guide Houlton to victory over Hodgdon.

Josh Harvey hit a two-run homer in the third and a two-run double in the fifth for the Shiretowners. Mike Ring had a two-run home run in the second and added a run-scoring single. Parker Sanderson had two singles and two RBIs.

Mike Brombosz led the Hawks with a first inning two-run home run. Dan McGillicuddy hit an RBI single.

Cen. Aroostook 25, Washburn 0

At Washburn, Dan Brewer and Logan McLaughlin each hit a double, four singles and drove in five runs to lead Central Aroostook of Mars Hill past Washburn.

Kasey Brewer and Mitch Folsom combined to pitch a one-hitter for the Panthers. Dan Brewer scored five runs and Kasey Brewer hit a two-run home run in the first.

Sal Viola doubled in the second inning for the Beavers.
