TRENTON — Two people died Saturday as the result of a two-vehicle accident on Route 3 in Trenton.

Cinthya Nathalie Felix Perez, 26, of Los Angeles, Calif., died at the scene of the accident, which occurred about 1:20 a.m.

Felix Perez was a passenger in a 2002 Toyota Corolla that was being operated by Heather Lee, 28, of Providence, R.I.

A second passenger, Tam Ngoc Tran, 27, of Garden Grove, Calif., was critically injured in the crash. She was airlifted from the scene to Eastern Medical Center, which reported she died from her injuries about 6 p.m.

Lee’s vehicle was struck head-on by a 2000 Ford pickup truck operated by Jon Dow, 23, of Hampden.

Both Lee and Dow received minor injuries and were treated and released from Maine Coast Memorial Hospital.

The crash occurred when Dow’s vehicle, which was heading north, crossed the centerline into the path of Lee’s vehicle. Speed appears to be a factor, according to police.

The crash remains under investigation and is being reconstructed by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department.
