Nine-year-old Brandon Adams (center), a Bear Cub Scout with Bangor Cub Scout Pack 6, and Jacob DuBose (right), 12, unload mail bins filled with donated food items into the United Postal Service’s Eastern Maine Processing and Distribution Facility in Hampden on Saturday. Helping them is (back, left) Isaac Mann, director of Seeds of Hope Food Pantry in Bangor, and other volunteers. By the end of the day the food was distributed to area food banks, pantries and shelters. The annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive, said to be the nation’s largest one-day food drive, is organized by the National Association of Letter Carriers.
