PORTLAND, Maine — A former elementary school teacher from Maine has been found guilty of two counts of transporting a minor to New Hampshire with the intent of engaging in sexual activity.
James Raymond was found guilty of the federal charges Friday by U.S. District Court Judge D. Brock Hornby.
The former music teacher from Auburn faces a sentence of between 10 years and life in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for September.
Raymond was charged with taking an 11-year-old girl to a New Hampshire amusement park and inappropriately touching her for sexual gratification.
In a separate case, Raymond was found guilty in 2008 of five charges of unlawful sexual touching and three counts of assault involving former students.
