ORONO, Maine — Though it has been four days, Bangor Hydro-Electric Co. repair crews continued to deal Thursday with the aftermath of Monday’s severe thunderstorms.
The latest trouble occurred in Orono, where extensive damage to trees and power lines is believed to have caused an hour-long power outage that affected 2,090 utility customers in the Bennoch Road area, according to Bangor Hydro spokeswoman Susan Faloon.
That outage began shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday and lasted until about 6 p.m., a dispatcher from the Penobscot Regional Communications Center said.
Faloon said Bangor Hydro crews were still on the job late Thursday night, working to restore power to about 100 customers elsewhere. Those outages were scattered in the utility’s northern service area, she said.
The live outage page on the company’s Internet site listed Argyle Township, Bowerbank, LaGrange, Medford, Milo and Sebec as among the areas still affected.
