USM sweeps Plymouth State
At Gorham, Heather Gilman of Fairfield and Katie Davis combined for 10 RBIs to lead the University of Southern Maine Huskies to a doubleheader sweep of Plymouth State University 8-2 and 12-7.
In the first game, Gilman hit a three-run home run to key a five-run fifth inning. She also had a double. Davis had two doubles.
Kortney Nedeau of Kennebunk led the Panthers with a double, a single, and an RBI.
In the second game, Davis broke open a 5-5 game with a two-run homer in the fourth, doubled, singled and had three RBIs. Lauren DiCecco hit a double and two singles.
For PSU, Nedeau singled twice. Allie Luisi had a double and a single.
