BANGOR, Maine — The four remaining candidates in the race for the Democratic nomination for governor will gather Monday for the Bangor Region Chamber-Eaton Peabody gubernatorial debates.
The Democratic debate will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Husson University’s Gracie theater. Jim Morris, anchor and news director at WABI-TV, Channel 5, in Bangor, will be the moderator for the forum.
The Democratic field was recently cut from five to four contenders when John Richardson, former Maine House speaker and economic development commissioner, dropped out of the race Monday. The remaining candidates are Steven Rowe, Rosa Scarcelli, Elizabeth “Libby” Mitchell, and Patrick McGowan.
The primary focus of the debate will be on business and economic topics.
There is no admission fee for attending the debates and they are open to the public. However, tickets will be issued in advance and are required for admission. A limited number of tickets are available from the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce. Call 947-0307.
