Snow predicted for northern New England

The Associated Press

GRAY, Maine — The National Weather Service says a late April storm could bring heavy wet snow across the mountains of western Maine and northern New Hampshire and Vermont.

The weather service says an upper level system dropping south from Canada will bring the potential of snow Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday.

Meteorologists say by the time the storm ends, up to a foot of heavy wet snow is possible across portions of the White Mountains in New Hampshire and the Green Mountains in Vermont.

The wet snow could result in downed tree limbs and power lines, which may cause scattered power outages.
