FORT FAIRFIELD – Jeanne G. Harvey, 74, wife of the late Leon Harvey, passed away Sunday morning, April 18, 2010, at a Mars Hill health care facility, after an extended illness. She was born July 13, 1935, in Fort Kent, daughter of Johnny and Isabelle (Roy) Guimond. She was a graduate of Fort Kent High School, Class of 1954, and married Leon Harvey, Nov. 5, 1956. Jeanne was a communicant of Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield. While attending high school, Jeanne was employed by Princess Kent, Fort Kent, and later in life was employed for many years at the former Converse Shoe, and former Aroostook Shoe, both of Presque Isle. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harvey was predeceased by her husband, Leon, Aug. 31, 1998; one brother, Conrad Guimond; one great-granddaughter, Lindsay Marie MacDonald; one brother-in-law, Norman Madore; and one sister-in-law, Cecile Guimond. She is survived by two sons, Richard A. Harvey and his companion, Peggy Legasse, of Mapleton and Ronald L. Harvey and his wife, Polly, of Fort Fairfield; one daughter, Gladys Lunn and her husband, Carvell, of Fort Fairfield; one brother, Joe Guimond of Arizona; four sisters, Yvonne Madore, Rita Pelletier and her husband, George, all of Fort Fairfield, Joan McHenry and her husband, Edward, and Theresa Page and her husband, David, all of Madawaska; eight grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, two great-grandchildren, five great-stepgrandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where a vigil service will be conducted 7:30 p.m. by the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, April 22, at Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, 147 Main St., Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, celebrant. Interment will take place after the Mass at St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held immediately after the interment service at Knights of Columbus Hall, Council No. 1753, 260 Main St., Fort Fairfield. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Harvey to Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 625, Caribou, ME 04736.
