A University of Maine student is dead, police charge, because a 22-year-old driving a truck under the influence of intoxicants struck her while she walked on residential street in Orono. What can be done to keep young adults, those of legal drinking age and those not yet old enough, from drinking and driving? Should there be more police roadblocks in areas where young people gather to drink? Should fines and jail time increase for those convicted of OUI? Or is education the key?
What can be done to combat drunk driving?
