What has happened to this season of “Celebrity Apprentice”? Donald Trump’s celeb contestants are dropping out of the competition like flies.
Last week Sharon Osbourne was out sick (a legitimate absence — we all get sick), Cyndi Lauper had to make a trip to Washington, D.C., to see the president (she’ll be back this week), Michael Johnson told Trump he was leaving the competition to return home to take care of his son (which he promised was an unforeseen issue), and model Selita Ebanks was fired in the boardroom.
And thank goodness taping is over, because Bret Michaels was rushed to the hospital last weekend for an emergency appendectomy, according to “People” magazine.
Can Trump rally the troops and pull it together for the rest of the season? Let’s hope so, because I want to see Bill Goldberg win it all.
Also on my list to win is Crystal “MamaSox” Bowersox on “American Idol.” My final two prediction is for her and Lee DeWyze to rock it out in the finale, and while The Man on the Couch and I are big Lee fans we’ve both predicted Crystal to walk away with the “Idol” title.
Make sure to tune in at 8 p.m. next Wednesday for my favorite “American Idol” episode of each season, “Idol Gives Back.”
So far, they’ve raised more than $140 million to benefit charities around the world and right here at home. Beneficiaries of this year’s two-hour fundraising event include Children’s Health Fund, Feeding America, Malaria No More, Save the Children’s U.S. Programs and the United Nations Foundation.
You can learn more about this year’s event at www.idolgivesback.com, including a list of the items now up for auction. In case you were hoping to get me an early birthday present, I’d love the set of four tickets and backstage passes now up for grabs.
Already confirmed to perform at next week’s show are: Carrie Underwood, Alicia Keys, Annie Lennox, Jeff Beck and the Black Eyed Peas. Don’t miss it!
