CHINA, Maine — The body of an 18-year-old Maine snowmobiler has been found in China Lake.
The Maine Warden’s Service says the body of Richard “Shaw” Jackson of China was found at about 6 p.m. Tuesday by two fishermen in the lake’s west basin, an area known as “the narrows.”
Jackson disappeared on Jan. 1 after he had left a snowmobile repair shop and headed home. At the time wardens speculated he might have tried to cross the lake and hit a stretch of open water.
Officials searched for Jackson for six days in January before suspending their efforts.
