April vacation week is upon us, and there are tons of options for both kids and parents throughout eastern Maine. For education workshops and camps, try the Owls Head Transportation Museum, the Maine Discovery Museum and the Challenger Learning Center in Bangor, and the Page Farm and Home Museum on the UM campus, all of which offer science, transportation and history-based activities for kids of all ages. The Bangor Public Library ends its Week of the Young Child with a Saturday afternoon performance from the Flannery Brothers, and The Grand in Ellsworth kicks off its children’s programming with $3 performances from the African Acrobats, direct from Kenya, at 10 and 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 16. They also will offer $1 matinee screenings of the classic “E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial,” at 1 p.m. April 19-21.
