Should Maine have worked harder to land Jackson Lab’s expansion?

Jackson Lab, now based in Bar Harbor, is considering expanding by adding a new facility in Florida. State and county officials there are working to provide incentives of up to $120 million. Should Maine have done more to persuade Jackson Lab to build its new

facility here? Or is Florida, a much larger state with more tax revenue at its disposal, able to top anything Maine could offer? Would you have supported a bond issue to pay for matching Florida’s offer? Is there anything else Maine could have brought to bear in

Jackson Lab’s considerations?
