MATTAWAMKEAG – Robert “Bobby” Springer, 46, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at his mother’s residence in Mattawamkeag. Bobby was born July 14, 1963, in New Milford, Conn., son of the late Robert Springer Sr. and Sandra (Clark) Springer. Bobby was a 1981 graduate of Mattanawcook Academy, Lincoln. After high school, Bobby enlisted in the National Guard and completed his basic training in Atlanta. Bobby deeply loved his family. Bobby also loved the Red Sox, Vikings and Dale Earnhardt Sr. Bobby was predeceased by his father, Red Springer; and two sisters, Shelly Pete and Laurie Carlow. He is survived by his mother, Sandra Springer of Mattawamkeag; sister, Kim Springer of Lincoln; brother, Earl Springer of Gloucester, Va.; daughters, Samantha Springer, Chelsey Springer and Nina Pelkey, all of Lincoln, and Crissy Pelkey of California; grandchildren, Adrianna Thurlow, Bradyn Whiting, Mia Pelkey and Richard Winder; many nieces, nephews and special friends. Bobby will be missed by all who knew him and loved him. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Jason Johnstone officiating. Interment will be later in the spring at Mattawamkeag Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Lincoln Food Cupboard.
