ELLSWORTH – Wilma D. Seavey, 74, peacefully slipped away Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010, at home with her loving family. She was born Dec. 9, 1935, in West Tremont, to parents Milton and Zulma (Wentworth) Walls. Wilma was tenacious in her battle against cancer. She used that same strong work ethic in all her endeavors. Wilma was well known and proud of her gardening skills, cooking, wreath making, bee keeping and dressmaking. She made numerous wedding dresses for girls she knew and loved in the area. Wilma also cherished family get-togethers and visits, loving all her pets and farm animals she raised, canoeing to the cranberry bog, berry picking, singing while she worked, dancing with “handsome” men, shopping trips and of course, yard sales. She was probably most proud of her family. Surviving are her loving husband of 53 years, Chester; two daughters, Diane and friend, James, and Karen and husband, Thomas; grandchildren, Nathan and wife, Jessica, Jodi and husband, Timothy, Matthew and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Whitney, Asa and Kira; sisters, Jean and Ida; brothers, William, Alonzo, Frank, Leroy, Milton Jr. “Putt,” and oldest brother, Edgar and his wife, Nancy, a best friend since high school; and an aunt, Carrie and husband, Raymond Morris. She was predeceased by her oldest sister, Leatrice; and baby brother, Stewart. Special thanks to all of Wilma’s friends and caregivers along her way. She loved you all and you did make a difference in her life. A private graveside gathering will be held at Remick Cemetery in the near future.
