JOHN WILLIAM MCEVOY

SPENCER, Mass., and SEARSMONT – John W. McEvoy, 67, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Spaulding Rehabilitation Center, Cambridge, Mass. Born in Natick, Mass., he was the son of the late William and Thelma (Blanchard) McEvoy and husband of Phyllis (McIntyre) McEvoy. A resident of Spencer, Mass., for the last two years, Mr. McEvoy previously resided in Searsmont, where he and his wife owned and operated Aldus Shores Lakeside Campground. In addition, John retired from Coan Transportation as a truck driver for more than 30 years. He was a member of Framingham Eagles and booster member of Natick Veterans of Foreign Wars. John loved animals, especially his two dogs and cat. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Noreene McEvoy of Almond Beach, Fla., and Shawn McEvoy of Michigan; nine stepchildren, Cheryl Ferrelli of Ashland, Mass., Vincent Tonelli of Petaluma, Calif., Timothy Tonelli of Dudley, Mass., Lisa DeVries of Spencer, Mass., Lynn Troiano of Millbury, Mass., Michael Tonelli of San Jose, Calif., Allen Tonelli of Medway, Mass., Tammi Ouillette of Northbridge, Mass., and Traci Paletsky of Hudson, Mass.; 19 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one aunt, Elizabeth McEvoy; and many cousins. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 9 a.m. Friday, April 9, at St. Cecilia’s Church with an urn burial afterward at Wildwood Cemetery, Ashland, Mass.
