PARKMAN, Maine — Residents voted at the annual town meeting Saturday to take ownership of the McKusick Elementary School when SAD 4 vacates the building later this year.
While residents authorized the selectmen to sell, transfer, or rent the school building and its 4 acres, they wanted any action to be done with the recommendation of the School Option Committee. That committee will meet next at 7 p.m. March 29, at the town office.
Approval also was given to do a revaluation of town properties with the cost expected at $16,615 for each of the two years. It has been more than 10 years since the last revaluation.
Elected to office were the following: James Morin Sr., selectman; Pat Johnson, chairman of the Board of Selectmen; Winnie Elderkin, library trustee; Nicholas Kennedy, SAD 4 board; Carl O’Donnell and Mark Ceppetelli, planning board members; James Morin Jr. and Christian McGinn, associate planning board members; and Candice Cyr, HAD 4 board.
