Colby, Kalamazoo split
At Winter Haven, Fla., Abhi Chandel struck out five and walked just one in five innings of work to earn the victory as Colby College defeated Kalamazoo College 8-1 in the first game of a Tuesday doubleheader.
The Mules dropped the second game 4-1.
In the first game, Brandon Nieuw registered three singles and an RBI for Colby. Mike Mastrocola singled twice while Ryan Conlon knocked in two runs. Kenneth Kaufmann chipped in with an RBI double.
In the second game, Kalamazoo used a three-run second inning to take the win.
Richard Newton paced Colby with a double, a single and an RBI.

Todd Keneborus (Saint Joseph’s junior), Baseball Player of the Week, hit .308 with six runs, 12 RBIs and an .846 slugging percentage in a 3-1 week for the Monks.

Nate Martin (Saint Joseph’s freshman), Baseball Rookie of the Week, hit .429 with four runs, four RBIs and four stolen bases in a 3-1 trip for the Monks.

Sam Murray (Saint Joseph’s sophomore), Baseball Pitcher of the Week, scattered six hits with no walks and four strikeouts in a 7-0 win for the Monks.

Alyssa Marchant (Saint Joseph’s junior), Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week, scored six goals in each of the Monks’ three wins last week, including the 100th of her career in a win over Thomas College.

Taylor Allison (Saint Joseph’s sophomore), Women’s Lacrosse Goalie of the Week, posted a 5.33 goals-against average with a .644 save percentage in three games for the Monks.

North Atlantic Conference
Spencer Hunt (Saint Joseph’s freshman), Men’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week, tallied seven goals, two assists and 13 groundballs in a 2-0 week for the Monks.
