In November, voters will be asked to approve a casino in Oxford County. It will mark the second time in two years a casino was proposed for that part of the state, and the fifth time a casino has been on the ballot in Mane. Will voters be worn down by the perennial return of such proposals? Will the bad economy sway voters who are eager to embrace
any sort of economic development? Is this a good plan because it is more likely to bring in out-of-state money, given its location? Or is gambling an underhanded way to drain money from people and redirect it to education and other worthy endeavors?
