WINTERPORT, Maine — Speed was the reason for a rollover accident Tuesday morning that caused $8,000 in damage to a sedan, investigators said.
A report from the Waldo County Sheriff’s Department said Amber J. Williams, 20, of Bangor was traveling south on Lebanon Road in Winterport with an infant and a 3-year-old as passengers when she turned right onto Boston Road, traveling “too fast” for the conditions.
Williams’ 2006 Saturn slid sideways across Boston Road, hit a group of trees, then flipped onto its side, the report said. The car slid a short distance before returning to its four wheels and coming to a stop in the road.
Williams complained of pain and was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, said Chief Deputy Robert Keating.
“The two kids were in seats. They were fine,” he said.
